City of Salzburg – Rusty scrap caused the evacuation of HAK 2

Today, Monday, in the afternoon, a short evacuation took place from the Trade Academy 2 in Salzburg-Lehen. Alleged war materials were found at a neighboring construction site. There was a moment of excitement, but the signal was quickly given.

Trade Academy 2 and some outbuildings in Salzburg-Lehen were evacuated for about half an hour on Monday afternoon. The reason: it was reported that rusty war materials were found at a construction site in the immediate vicinity.

Police and explosives experts responded. Students from the Hak were evacuated and the nearby areas around the construction site, school and paths at the Salzach were cordoned off.

But soon everything was given again. The alleged rusty bomb parts or grenades were old, rusty pieces of equipment. They posed no danger.
