A traffic accident that was as serious as it was unusual kept the emergency services busy in Wallern an der Trattnach (Upper Austria) in the early morning hours. A truck and trailer had gone off the road and the vehicle practically wrapped itself around a tree.
It is still unclear how the serious accident could have happened around 6 a.m. In any case, the fire brigade saw a terrible picture. A truck apparently on its way to mowing work had left the road at Wallerner Strasse near the Weghof intersection.
Driver freed by rescuers
The vehicle crashed into a tree and became stuck there. The steering wheel was trapped and had to be freed by rescuers. The B134 Wallerner Straße was closed between the roundabouts on the B137 Innviertler Straße and the L528, Grieskirchner Straße, Eferdinger Straße, for the duration of the rescue operation and for vehicle recovery.
