There was a room fire in Vienna on Friday afternoon. A burning smell was noticed in the stairwell of the affected building. The fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire quickly.
The room fire took place in the Klosehof on Billrothstrasse/Philippovichgasse. A living/sleeping area was hit.
The neighbor of the affected apartment noticed a burning smell and alerted the fire brigade around 3:15 p.m.
27 men employed
The emergency services were deployed with 27 men – including breathing apparatus and five other vehicles. Because no one was in the apartment at the time of the fire, the door had to be forced open.
With the help of a so-called bucket spray, the emergency services managed to extinguish the fire very quickly, Jürgen Figerl of the professional fire brigade reported to the “Krone”.
