The city command of the executive branch in Linz had to be evacuated on May 22. The reason: a telephone bomb threat had been received. The building was searched, but fortunately nothing was found. The caller was quickly identified – and was a surprise.
An anonymous caller contacted an employee of the Linz police telephone exchange at 11:20 am on May 22, saying: “A bomb will go off in five minutes.” The twelve-storey office building at Nietzschestraße 33, which houses the city police headquarters, as well as the Cobra and some departments of the State Criminal Police, had to be evacuated immediately due to imminent danger.
