One person was seriously injured in an avalanche in Kaprun, more specifically 150 meters below the Heinrich Schwaiger House (2802 meters).
The three Germans (two women and one man) climbed from Mooserboden towards Heinrich-Schwaiger-Haus (2802m). A small old snow slide broke off near a gully and found the man, who was carried about 50 yards over partly rocky terrain.
Companions were unharmed.
The German was flown to the hospital in Zell am See with the emergency medical helicopter “Alpin Heli 6”. His companions were unharmed and were escorted to the valley by mountain rescuers.
In addition to the Kaprun mountain rescue service and two mountain rescue dog handlers, the Libelle helicopter team and three Alpine police officers were also present.
