Police have arrested a 27-year-old man in Vienna-Favoriten. He threatened to kill a woman (72) with a baseball bat.
The 72-year-old was walking her dog around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday morning when a man she did not know threatened her with a baseball bat. The woman ran away out of fear and called the police emergency number.
Thanks to an accurate description of the person and the quick intervention of the officers, the 27-year-old Romanian could be arrested in the immediate vicinity, the police announced on Monday.
Racket carried in sports bag
The 27-year-old found a baseball bat in the gym bag he was carrying and confiscated it. The suspect was temporarily arrested on suspicion of making dangerous threats.
The 27-year-old did not confess during his interrogation. He was reported in general on behalf of the Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office.
