A small plane crashed at Seitenstetten airport in the Amstetten district (Lower Austria) on Wednesday. During a turnaround maneuver after landing, the aircraft tilted. The two occupants were slightly injured.
Two people in Seitenstetten had luck with adversity. The single-engine, two-seat aircraft overturned during a turnaround maneuver after landing and remained on its roof. According to police reports, both occupants suffered mainly abrasions. According to Klaus Stebal of the Lower Austrian Fire Brigade Association, one of the people was taken to hospital in Steyr.
Three fire brigades in action
Three fire brigades were deployed with 35 emergency services and eight vehicles. The two-seater aircraft was recovered by the Florianis and transported to the hangar. After almost two hours the operation was over.
