Two terrible accidents took place in Vienna-Leopoldstadt and Liesing on Thursday. Two girls (11 and 17 years old) were hit by a car and a truck respectively. Both suffered serious injuries.
The first accident took place around 12:00 on Perfectastrasse in the direction of Brunner Strasse: a 28-year-old truck driver wanted to cross the intersection with Herzigstrasse when he collided with a 17-year-old. The pedestrian was seriously injured. The girl had to be taken to hospital in a rescue helicopter, the Vienna police said on Friday.
Eleven-year-old hit by car driver
Hours later, around 7 p.m., the next terrible accident occurred. A 50-year-old driver was driving his car in Leopoldstadt towards Nordbahnstrasse when a girl (11) crossed the street behind a tram. The car hit the young pedestrian. The eleven-year-old had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries.
