Shock for a 34-year-old mother in Mureck: She must have missed a train set at a level crossing on Friday – a collision occurred. Her four-year-old son, who was in the back of the car, was slightly injured.
At around 3:40 p.m., the woman from the Styrian district of Leibnitz was driving her car on Hoffeldstraße in the direction of Hainsdorf-Brunnsee. Her four-year-old son was sitting in the back seat. At the railway crossing there, which was secured with a stop sign, she must have missed a train coming from the direction of Bad Radkersburg.
Train hit car in the rear section
The motor vehicle hit the rear of the car and threw it onto an adjacent field. The driver was unharmed, her son was slightly injured. He was taken to the Graz LKH by the emergency services.
The driver and the 14 passengers on the train were unharmed. The railway line was closed for several hours. The passengers were cared for by the Mureck and Weitersfeld fire departments.
