Bombs fell, nine killed in Russian attacks in Ukraine

Date:

At least nine people have been killed and nearly 50 others wounded in Russian attacks in Ukraine. “Every city and village in the Donetsk region is under constant threat of enemy attacks,” Governor Vadym Filashkin wrote in Telegram.

According to Moscow, Russian troops have also captured another city in the region of eastern Ukraine. The Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions were annexed by Russian authorities in September 2022.

The Sumy region is also currently under almost daily shelling from Russian positions across the border. According to local authorities, electricity and water supplies were cut, and public broadcaster Suspilne reported several explosions in the city.

Homes and businesses damaged
Another attack took place in the southwestern village of Komar. Russian forces dropped three guided bombs, Ukrainian officials said, killing a 32-year-old woman and wounding 20 others. In addition, two residential buildings and infrastructure, four shops and several private homes were damaged.

Fuel depots burned
On Saturday night, both sides also attacked each other with drones, causing damage in their respective countries. Russian soldiers reportedly attacked twelve Ukrainian regions; according to Ukrainian information, a large part of them were shot down.

On the other side, debris set fire to fuel depots and damaged a radio tower, a regional crisis team statement said. The drones themselves were shot down. The warring parties’ reports often cannot be independently verified.
