A two-and-a-half-year-old boy had to be taken to Villach State Hospital with injuries on Saturday after he was bitten by the family dog.
At around 2 p.m., the toddler was playing in the hallway on the ground floor of his parents’ house in the Villach-Land district – with his mother (31), his grandmother and the family dog, a pinscher.
“The boy was walking behind the dog without touching him when the dog suddenly turned around and bit the boy in the face,” the Carinthia State Police described the incident.
Although the dog immediately let go of the boy, the child still had to be taken to the hospital by the rescue service. In the meantime, the grandmother took the pinscher outside to the dog kennel.
