Although the Austrian football stars did not make it to the final of the European Championship next Sunday, Amelie Ricca from the Baden district (Lower Austria) still paid tribute to the kickers’ performance – and even thanked them with her own song.
In her song, Amelie Ricca sings a musical ‘thank you’ to the Austrian national team. “This team has inspired many people in Austria. And it is precisely for this enthusiasm that we should be grateful,” says the eleven-year-old.
“Thumbs Up” by Wimmer and Baumgartner
The melody originally comes from the song “Steirerman san very good”, which her aunt composed. The lyrics for Amelie’s ÖFB song were also written by her. “I loved the song so much that I quickly sang it in the studio”, says the young singer, who gets excited about every competition.
Together with her father she also produced a YouTube video. Christoph Baumgartner and Patrick Wimmer even gave a thumbs up.
You can listen to the song here.
Eleven year olds with stage experience
Father Raimund supports his daughter as a manager. The student made her first major public appearances at the age of nine. And this year Amelie has already rocked numerous stages, including warming up the audience at the Starry Night at Lake Neusiedl and at the Danube Island Festival.
