An unfortunate accident at a construction site in the center of Vienna, near the Votive Church, may have put passers-by in a cheerful mood on Friday. During the high temperatures, an excavator had created a raw water block there – this may have provided some refreshment.
The water fountain on Universitätsstrasse near the Votive Church was several meters high. This probably cooled down the workers on the construction site, but also passers-by. According to information from a reporter from the “Krone” reader, a pipe burst may have occurred beforehand.
The video shows a desperate worker trying to get the situation under control. However, it is unlikely that the cooling took long; in such cases, the fire brigade will be on the scene quickly.
