A joyride on a motorcycle ended in disaster for a pair of 21-year-old brothers in the Tyrolean town of Ausserfern on Tuesday afternoon. Both were seriously injured in a head-on collision, as was a holidaymaker from Belgium.
The devastating accident happened on Tuesday around 16:00 in the Lechtalstrasse near Steeg. The local brothers were there on a motorcycle. The driver wanted to overtake a car and may not have seen the oncoming vehicle of a Belgian holiday family with four passengers in time.
Brothers were thrown through the air
While trying to overtake, the 21-year-old collided head-on with the Belgian’s car. According to police, the force of the impact threw the two brothers six meters through the air. They suffered serious injuries.
The driver (47) is also seriously injured, his daughter (18) slightly. The Lechtalstrasse had to be completely closed for two and a half hours to rescue the victims of the accident.
