At least eight people were injured in a knife attack in the British seaside town of Southport (see video above). According to initial information, there were also children among them. Armed police officers were able to arrest the suspect and confiscate the murder weapon.
“Please avoid the area while we deal with the incident,” Merseyside Police said on Monday afternoon. “There appear to be multiple casualties.” The incident had already occurred in the morning. Police are asking the public on Platform X to refrain from speculation.

It was initially unclear whether people were killed in the knife attack. According to emergency services, eight people were treated at the scene with stab wounds and then taken to hospitals. Some were taken to a children’s hospital.
According to their own statement, the police arrested a man and seized a knife. According to the police, there was no danger to the public. Southport is a coastal town in North West England, between Liverpool and Blackpool.
