On Monday afternoon, the Viennese police became aware of an empty apartment in Ottakring. A fence (29) had set up a shop there and hidden various stolen goods, weapons and drugs. A completely scared cat without an owner was also discovered.
According to the police, three e-scooters, two bicycles, approximately twenty mobile phones, two laptops and cash worth 14,680 euros were seized.
Police discovered the scheme after the apartment owner was unable to open the door and called a locksmith to help. When the door was forced open, the 29-year-old suddenly found himself inside.
Various weapons discovered
Because there was also a strong smell of weed, a police dog was deployed, which then found the drug and several tablets. A blank pistol, a stabbing weapon and a forged Italian identity card were also found. The suspect was arrested.
Cat without owner
In the apartment there was also an unchipped cat that could not be assigned to an owner. She was handed over to the animal protection of the city of Vienna. During an initial thorough investigation, the police were able to connect a number of cases to previous crimes, such as burglaries.
