Good luck for several drivers at Präbichl in Styria: the heavy rain caused several mudslides on Monday evening and seven cars were swept away by the mud mass. Miraculously, no one was injured.
It was not until early August that the Eisenstraße (B 115) was closed to the Präbichl due to mudslides. On Monday evening, the fire brigade had to be called out again. The ground, which had become softer due to the previous rain showers, did not stand a chance against the heavy rainfall, and several mudslides were the logical result. A total of seven cars were surprised and swept away by the mudslides.
Mud is 40 centimeters high
According to ORF Steiermark, the cars were stuck in mud that was up to 40 centimeters deep and the fire brigade had to use heavy equipment. Miraculously, all drivers were unharmed. The clean-up work will take longer, the Eisenstrasse is currently closed, the only way to avoid this is via the A9.
The Friesacher Straße between Scheifling and the Perchauer Sattel is also currently closed – a mudslide has also occurred here and the closure will last for several days.
