The drinking water there has been regularly polluted since June. An all-free start to August was short-lived; two weeks later, new measurements again revealed dangerous germs.
“We didn’t know why ourselves”
But investigating the cause was extremely difficult. “We suspected that the elevated tank had developed a leak and that rainwater had entered,” reports the deputy mayor responsible. The values eventually improved by themselves. “We didn’t know why,” said the local politician.
