From cell to classroom: starting Monday, there will be another IS fan at school in Vienna. But which one?
The first day of school will also raise a question for many teachers: Is one of my students an ISIS fan? As reported, a 14-year-old was arrested in the nursery at the end of July. The accusation: the boy had allegedly shared ISIS content, including videos of attacks and a threat against a Viennese city politician. Now the youngster was quickly released – so that he could be back in class in Vienna in time for the start of school.
This is what the Education Directorate says
But how does the school prepare for the boy? How can we prevent him from possibly influencing other classmates with his worldviews? Have the teachers and other colleagues been informed in advance, or the parents of other students?
The short answer from the responsible authority: “The Vienna Education Directorate has not received any information about this from the police.”
