Terrible accident Sunday evening in the Tyrolean district of Kitzbühel: a young trio came off a forest path in Kirchberg on a quad and fell down a steep slope. While two passengers were seriously injured, all help came too late for a 22-year-old local man.
The tragedy occurred on Sunday evening around 8 p.m. According to the police, two young men aged 22 and 23 and a woman (22) were driving a quad bike on a forest road about 50 meters below the Sonnwendalm. For unknown reasons, the vehicle left the side of the road and fell over the steep embankment.
All help came too late for the 22-year-old
“While the vehicle only came to a stop after about 450 meters, the three occupants were thrown from the quad after about 50 meters,” the researchers say. The 22-year-old man was seriously injured. Unfortunately, all help came too late for him. He died at the scene of the accident.
The other man and woman survived the terrible accident. They were taken to the hospital in St. Johann with serious injuries.
The accident led to a large-scale operation
Dozens of emergency services were on site, including fire brigades, mountain rescue, rescue services and the police. Two medical emergency helicopters were also in use.
