At the Altausseer Kirtag – Witnesses: “Knife Attack” Was Just an Accident While Under the Influence

Date:

A 22-year-old was seriously injured at the Altaussee beer tent on Sunday evening. He did not notice the cut at first, but passers-by pointed it out to him. They then went looking for witnesses to the alleged knife attack. But this turned out to be an accident.

There was great excitement at the traditional Altausseer Kirtag on Monday evening around a 22-year-old from Lower Austria: around 1:00 a.m. the young man was admitted to the Bad Aussee LKH with a cut in his back. Passers-by warned the drunken guest about the heavily bleeding wound and called the rescue team.

At the hospital, doctors treated a cut several centimeters deep and long, after which the injured man was admitted to the hospital.

Because it was suspected that the injuries had been caused deliberately, the police were called and witnesses were sought. It was assumed that there was a knife attack, but the party animal was too drunk to remember what happened in the Altaussee beer tent.

Monday evening the signal was given: In the course of the investigation it turned out that witnesses could attribute the wound to a drunken hoppala. The 22-year-old was said to have been dancing on a bar table when he fell to the ground and landed on an aluminum rail. He probably suffered a serious cut from this sharp rail, which he did not notice himself. The Public Prosecution Service Leoben is now being called in to make a criminal judgment.
