Fatal riding accident on Tuesday in Tyrol’s Ötztal: A 58-year-old German woman suddenly fell from her horse for unknown reasons and suffered serious injuries. A witness raised the alarm and provided first aid.
The serious accident took place in the municipality of Umhausen. According to the police, it is not yet known why the 58-year-old German suddenly fell from the right side of her horse while riding.
Witness made an emergency call
“A local man was in the immediate vicinity at the time and immediately called the rescue team,” the investigators continued. After initial treatment at the scene of the accident, the woman was flown to Zams Hospital by emergency medical helicopter.
Shoulder and arm injuries
The 58-year-old is said to have suffered serious injuries to her shoulder and forearms.
