An 84-year-old went out early Friday night to inspect a fallen tree. When she didn’t show up, her husband and son began searching in vain. It was only a service dog from the alerted emergency services that tracked down the elderly lady who had gotten lost and fallen.
An 84-year-old from the Urfahr-Raum district went into the forest in Neulichtenberg around 6 p.m. on Friday to look for a fallen tree. When she did not return, her husband and son went looking for her, but were unsuccessful.
Relatives raised the alarm
The relatives then alerted the emergency services. They started a search, in which a police dog patrol also participated. A four-legged friend picked up the scent in a wooded area about 200 meters from the pensioner’s home and turned into a bush on the forest path.
She was lying in the bushes
The guide dog handler followed her faithful four-legged friend until she finally found the missing dog lying in a bush, in the beam of her helmet lamp. She had some scratches on her arms, but was otherwise fine. She said that in the darkness she lost her balance and fell. After that, she was unable to get up on her own. She was returned to her family.
