Terrible accident on Wednesday evening in the Tyrolean lowlands: A 41-year-old local resident was seriously injured in a car accident in Söll (Kufstein district). During the rescue operation, the driver was resuscitated. He is in critical condition.
The fatal accident happened around 8 p.m. The 41-year-old went over the edge of the road on a left-hand bend while coming downhill from a construction site in the Wilder Kaiser-Brixental ski area. The car fell 170 meters down a steep slope.
Passers-by noticed the accident, were able to find the victim and started the rescue chain. “The alerted fire brigade and the mountain rescue team rescued the victim from the extremely steep and impassable terrain during continuous resuscitation measures,” the police reported.
“Critical health condition”
The seriously injured man was then taken to the district hospital in Kufstein. “The man’s condition was extremely critical at that time,” the investigators concluded.
