Lebanon’s Shiite Hezbollah party has pledged to contribute ‘specific’ response to the ‘Israeli massacre’ caused among its ranks by the simultaneous and massive explosion of thousands of devices in the hands of its members in Lebanon and Syria, leaving at least nine dead and thousands injured of varying severity.
In a message issued on Wednesday, the group said that despite the attack it received, it will continue its support for the “resistance of Gaza and its people” and will continue to defend “Lebanon, its people and its sovereignty.”
The general secretary of the Shiite party HezbollahHasan Nasrallah, will give a speech Thursday to address the situation in the region. “Hezbollah Secretary-General Hasan Nasrallah will speak Thursday at 5:00 PM (local time) about the latest events,” the group said in a short statement collected by the Lebanese television network Al Manar, linked to the formation.
Earlier, the party militia issued a statement expressing its condolences to the families of all the “martyrs” who died in “the treacherous and widespread aggression through the explosion of communications equipment”.
