The tunnel construction site on the Tauernautobahn (A10) will again be a bottleneck from Friday. Asfinag expects delays of more than two hours due to the current wave of return flights from the south.
“From Friday afternoon and especially this coming weekend, traffic jams and delays of more than two hours are expected on the Tauernautobahn due to the continuing wave of return trips to the north,” explains motorway manager Asfinag. Focus: the ongoing tunnel construction site between Werfen and Golling.
There is also a risk of traffic jams at the single-lane construction sites at Flachau and Zederhaus. The two construction works only started a few days ago.
So while holidaymakers on their way home from the south have to be patient in the traffic jams on the way through Salzburg, understanding is also needed from the locals. Due to the congested motorways, alternative routes are always congested. Both via the Fritztal and Tennengau communities. The residents of Golling and Kuchl in particular suffer from this.
The wave of returns and the associated delays will last until early October, according to Asfinag.
