Threatening gestures during parade – Iran shows off new kamikaze drones and jihad missile

Date:

Threatening gesture towards Israel: Amid rising regional tensions, Iran’s leadership has shown off a new ballistic missile and a state-of-the-art attack drone, according to media reports.

“Today, our defense and deterrence capabilities have grown so much that no demon even thinks of aggression against our dear Iran,” President Masoud Pezeshkian said Saturday during a military parade in Tehran where the weapons were presented, according to the IRNA news agency.

Thanks to the unity and cohesion of Muslim countries, “we can put in our place the bloodthirsty and genocidal usurper Israel, which has no mercy on anyone, neither women, nor children, nor young people, nor old people,” the Iranian leader added.

Iran’s spiritual leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, made similar remarks to a delegation of Muslim clerics at the Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran: “This inner strength can remove the Zionist regime, this malignant cancer, from the heart of the Islamic community in Palestine. American domination and interference in the region,” he said. Khamenei called on Muslim countries to completely cut their economic ties with Israel and weaken political ties.

The new solid-fuel rocket was named ‘Jihad’.
According to IRNA, the new weapons presented are the Jihad-type solid-fuel rocket, developed and manufactured by the Aerospace Department of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. According to IRNA, it has a range of 1,000 kilometers. The Shahed-136B drone is an improved version of the Shahed drone type 136. New features include additional functions and a range of over 4,000 kilometers.

Iran has been accused by Western governments of supplying both drones and ballistic missiles to Russia for use in its war with Ukraine, prompting Britain, France, Germany and the US to impose new sanctions on Tehran in early September.

Iran also supports the Hezbollah militia in Lebanon financially and militarily. This also applies to the radical Islamic Palestinian organization Hamas in the Gaza Strip, which is designated as a terrorist organization by the EU and the US, and the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

The region has been a powder keg since the Hamas attack on Israel
Since the unprecedented Hamas attack on Israel on October 7 and the ensuing war in the Gaza Strip, regional tensions have risen dramatically. According to Israeli sources, Hamas fighters have killed at least 1,205 people and taken 251 others as hostages in the Gaza Strip in their massive attack. According to Hamas figures, which cannot be independently verified, more than 41,300 people have been killed so far in the Israeli offensive in response to the attack.

Since October 8, northern Israel has also been under constant fire from the pro-Iranian Hezbollah, which is an ally of Hamas. Israel is responding to the attacks with counterattacks in Lebanon.

Following the targeted killing of high-ranking Hezbollah commanders by the Israeli army in Lebanon and the explosions of Hezbollah militia communications equipment attributed to Israel, the situation has deteriorated considerably. On Saturday, Hezbollah reported the deaths of a total of 16 members of an elite unit in an Israeli airstrike the day before in Beirut. According to Israeli sources, they had planned an attack on northern Israel, in which they wanted to “infiltrate Israeli communities and kill innocent civilians.”

On Tuesday and Wednesday, hundreds of Hezbollah militia beepers and walkie-talkies exploded simultaneously. According to current information, 39 people were killed and about 3,000 wounded in the explosions, which occurred in two waves and were attributed to Israel. Iran condemned the attacks.
