The emergency services immediately had a bad feeling because things were going badly from the beginning with a Slovak who was seriously injured in a truck accident in Antiesenhofen (Upper Austria) almost a week ago. Now that the fears became reality, the passenger died in the hospital.
The seriously injured passenger was rescued by the fire brigade and taken to the hospital in Passau. There, doctors had to give up the fight for the 45-year-old’s life.
This happened on September 18 in Antiesenhofen: A 37-year-old Slovak was driving his articulated vehicle on the Innkreisautobahn A8, in the municipality of Antiesenhofen, towards Suben at 06:34 when he left the road to the right and was driven into the grass verge for about 50 meters. He then drove onto the embankment to the right and the articulated vehicle tilted to the left.
The 45-year-old Slovakian passenger was trapped between the steering wheel and the windshield and was seriously injured. The 37-year-old driver was seriously injured in the accident. The volunteer fire brigades Ort im Innkreis and Antiesenhofen rescued the two injured. The 37-year-old was taken by ambulance to the Ried Hospital. The passenger was flown by emergency medical helicopter to the hospital in Passau. The motorway was closed for about three hours.
