The Minister of Finance and Finance estimates that “all transfers must be made by December 25.”
The Minister of Finance and Finance of the Basque Government, Christmas D’Anjouhas considered it “feasible” that by the end of 2025 the transfer to Euskadi of all current transfersincluding the management of the economic social security regime, which is ‘the most complex of the remaining ones’.
In an interview with Radio Euskadi, he referred to the proposal that the Basque Government is working on for the transfer of management of the economic regime of social security, which they will send to Pedro Sánchez’s executive before the end of 2024, with an estimate of 12 billion euros D’Anjou has spent this year only on pensions in the Basque Autonomous Community and has indicated that this figure is not “exactly” the value of pensions in Euskadi, but “a piece of information that we have: the amount allocated to cope with the flows during the year of the pensions of the more than half a million Basque pensioners”. “We will have to see what value that has, because it is not exactly the cost”, he stressed.
Furthermore, he said that the Basque Government is working and will work “not only on this transfer”, which “is really complex, the most complex of those that remain.”
“Although it is not in the group of those who will be in this first tranche of transfers that are being worked on, because of the complexity of it, we have to put ourselves into it and with this we are now together with the Ministry of Self-Government. about starting to look at things,” he added.
D’Anjou has said that the dates they are considering for all the transfers are that “they must be completed by December 25 at the latest.” What we are working on is that all the transfers must be completed,” he stated.
