A police officer in England stole almost four kilos of cocaine from the evidence room and sold it on the street with the help of a drug dealer. The investigator was exposed for losing bags of the drugs in front of his daughter’s school. The 54-year-old was released.
A Liverpool court found the man, who worked for the major crimes department, guilty of abuse of office and drug trafficking. The verdict will be announced on October 18. The drug dealer, who the police officer ordered to sell cocaine and to whom he also disclosed internal police information, was also convicted.
Drugs were also found in the house
Following the incident at school, investigators found more drugs at the man’s workplace. A Manchester Police bag containing traces of cocaine was also discovered at his home. The cocaine was subsequently weighed in the evidence room and was seized during two police operations – a significant amount was missing.
