Acrobat Amalia Avanesian, who fell six meters in front of an audience during a performance by Circus Krone in Munich last weekend, has woken up from her induced coma.
Amalia’s condition is stable, Circus Krone announced on Thursday. The 29-year-old woman suffered a traumatic brain injury when she fell during a performance in Burghausen on Saturday. “She has now woken up from the induced coma and is responding.”
The artist, who is part of the award-winning duo Flash of Splash, and her partner were performing a number on the straps, ribbons used for aerial acrobatics. The 29-year-old slipped for unknown reasons and fell into the depths in front of the audience at the almost sold-out performance.
The accident occurred during Circus Krone’s current tour through Germany.
