A new school will be built in neighboring Liechtenstein, with a floor plan that closely resembles a swastika. The educational facility was designed by architects from Vorarlberg.
A new education facility, the ‘Unterland II School Center’, will be built in the south of the Liechtenstein municipality of Ruggell. Actually intended as a showcase project, there is now resistance to the project. The reason for the criticism is the questionable basic shape of the building, which is strongly reminiscent of a swastika. The “Krone Vorarlberg” has received two emails from concerned citizens of the principality demanding that construction be halted due to the crooked appearance.
However, that is very unlikely: all procedures have been completed and the groundbreaking ceremony took place on September 30. We can only hope that the education center will not end up as a dubious ‘monument’. The school, which cost almost 80 million francs, was designed by Vorarlberg star architects Cukrowicz-Nachbaur.
