As for the motive, the two only said that they committed the crime due to lack of money.
Gas pistol, sweater and cargo pants
The slim, masked robbers, dressed in black sweaters and light brown cargo pants, allegedly threatened the five employees and a customer with a gas pistol and demanded in broken German money. Following tips from local residents, the young duo was arrested shortly after the crime by officers from Cobra and the police rapid intervention group, not far from the crime scene, in a small forest area.
Imprisonment for attempted theft
Neither the 18-year-old Viennese nor the 19-year-old Hungarian are registered in Linz – although it was not the first time they were here: “Last year they tried to rob a house together with a third person someone of the same age on the street. Although they threatened the victim with a knife, he was able to escape,” said Paul Tumfart of the Linz Regional Court.
At that point, they had both been partially suspended for nine months, two of which were heavy months. The older man’s previous conviction was also taken into account. “Both are currently being held in Linz prison. Pre-trial detention was requested on Wednesday,” said Ulrike Breiteneder.
