After the market introduction in Germany, it is now Austria’s turn: the Thuringian restaurateur Mustafa Demirkürek brings the first fried kebab to the supermarket shelves under the brand name Alzarro. Krone+ has tested the taste experience in advance and is giving away 50 x 2 kebabs to its subscribers – you can find the test report and the competition when you read on!
Market entry in Germany was characterized by teething problems. The planned start had to be postponed. No wonder that the development phase of the fried kebab took a lot of time. From the idea to the finished product took fifteen years. Or the equivalent of 50,000 test meals and countless recipe changes.
The product has been on the refrigerated shelves of German Edeka stores since July 2024. Also because 50 employees produce around 100,000 kebabs every day at full speed. There is a lot of demand and the product is well received. This will probably also happen in Austria in the coming days.
