The 42-year-old from Engerwitzdorf was on the Mühlkreisautobahn towards Freistadt around 7 a.m. on Friday. Shortly before the exit of his residence, he left the road to the right, crashed into the concrete barrier and was then thrown across the road to the left into the middle guardrail.
The driver of the accident ended up on the road
The 42-year-old was able to get out of the car through the passenger side. According to the police, he probably climbed over the central guardrail to the other lane and walked around there.
And then a Mühlviertel woman (30) passed by on the express train. Despite braking hard, she was able to catch the driver involved in the accident. The 42-year-old was seriously injured. After first aid from the emergency doctor, the rescue took him to the Kepler University Hospital in Linz.
