A geriatric nurse is said to have robbed people she cared of of valuables since 2017. In addition to cash, jewelry and clothing, the 48-year-old also stole household items. The Romanian national was found to have committed twelve thefts in various states.
Investigations at 22 police stations across Germany revealed that the 48-year-old changed foster carers every one to two months. In some cases, the departure may be related to a theft, as was the case in July in the Mödling district.
Abandoned due to theft
At that time, an 84-year-old reported to the police that the nurse had left and that, in addition to cash, various jewelry was missing.
Longfinger is now in prison
After an initially unsuccessful search, the Romanian woman was arrested last Friday by officers from the Mattighofen police station (Braunau district) on the basis of a warrant from the Wiener Neustadt Public Prosecutor’s Office. The suspect was then taken to Ried im Innkreis prison.
