A pensioner did not return home from looking for mushrooms on Saturday, after which the family alerted rescuers.
Several search dog teams in action
Police, fire brigade and various sniffer dog teams immediately took action. During the large-scale search, the pensioner was found hypothermic and wet in a stream bed in the forest.
“He is doing well under the circumstances and has been taken to hospital,” explains Andreas Jauschnik of the Red Cross. The rescue organization employed 19 dog handlers and their four-legged friends and 31 helpers.
