An eight-year-old boy was killed by a shotgun while hunting rabbits in England. An approximately 60-year-old man was temporarily arrested at the scene on suspicion of manslaughter by negligence. No charges have been filed yet.
The incident took place on September 28 in a rural area in the Cumbria region of north-west England.
As the PA news agency reported, the boy suffered fatal injuries to his head and face from shotgun pellets. Although Jay C. was taken to a clinic by rescue helicopter, he died the same day.
Boy was traveling with father
The boy really enjoyed going fishing and rabbit hunting with his father, according to a statement from his parents: “He was loving, friendly and was always up for mischief. He was the best kid you could ask for.”
The sporty boy from Frisington loved football and was a member of the club. Last weekend, junior and senior footballers in Cumbria remembered the boy by applauding for a minute before the match.
