The country can look forward to calm autumn weather in the coming days. With temperatures up to 21 degrees, October shows its mild side. Only on Wednesday will a slight disturbance zone bring more clouds and rain in some areas, according to Geosphere Austria meteorologists.
On Monday, local fog and high fog fields in the valleys, along the Danube and in river basins usually disappear during the morning. After that we can expect a mainly sunny day, only high cloud fields can occasionally obscure the sun. Temperatures rise from a cool three to ten degrees in the morning to a mild 12 to 21 degrees in the afternoon.
Thick fog and the first disruptions
Tuesday will also start with dense fog in many valleys and basins, which will largely clear by the afternoon. However, fog may persist in the northeast until the afternoon. Outside these foggy areas it will initially be sunny, before clouds roll in from the northwest from midday, causing rain showers in the west and on the northern edge of the Alps. Early temperatures are between four and ten degrees, daily maximum temperatures reach 12 to 19 degrees, depending on the sun and fog.
Regular rain showers and clouds
A weak fault zone spanning all of Austria dominates Wednesday. In the morning, dense clouds often bring rain, especially along the northern side of the Alps and in the north and northeast. In the mountains it will remain rainy until the afternoon, after which the precipitation decreases and the clouds clear. Occasionally the sun may also appear. Temperatures vary between five and six degrees in the morning and during the day the thermometer rises to 11 to 17 degrees.
High pressure ensures calm autumn weather
As the high pressure influence increases, Thursday will be mainly calm and dry. Fog and high fog fields remain present, especially along the Danube and in the south and southeast, sometimes until the evening hours. Furthermore, the sun shines in an almost cloudless sky. Only in the west there will be some clouds later. During the day it can be a maximum of 19 degrees.
Thanks to the hairdryer it becomes mild and friendly
The calm autumn weather will continue on Friday. Fog and high fog may sometimes persist, especially in the Danube region and in the south. But far away from the misty areas the sun shines and thanks to a light fog along the north side of the Alps it becomes exceptionally mild for this time of year. The wind blows moderately from the east to the south. Temperatures are three to ten degrees in the morning and up to 20 degrees during the day.
