Fear for the guests of a hotel in the Tyrolean Alpbachtal late Monday afternoon: a fire broke out in the basement of the building on Monday afternoon, after which the hotel had to be evacuated.
The fire probably broke out around 4:15 p.m. in a technical room in the basement of the Alpbacher Hotel. According to the police, the manager noticed the fire, notified the emergency services and had the guests and employees evacuated.
The fire brigades of Alpbach and Brixlegg responded with a large contingent and were able to quickly extinguish the fire. The rooms in the basement were then ventilated.
Guests could return
Fortunately, according to police, no one was injured. While the fire brigade was working, the evacuated hotel guests were housed in an adjacent building. Everyone could return to the hotel around 6 p.m.
It was not immediately clear why the fire broke out in the technical room.
