Accident in early morning traffic on Monday on the A9 in Selzthal: a truck left the side of the road and overturned. The 23-year-old driver was injured.
Around 6 a.m. a 23-year-old Croat was driving his truck on the A9 near Selzthal (Liezen district). Between the Selzthal tunnel and the Ardning exit, the man must have had a micro-sleep: he went off the right side of the road, the semi-trailer tipped over to the side and stayed there.
The driver suffered only minor injuries in the accident. The vehicle’s diesel tank emptied into the ground, which had to be excavated.
Traffic was congested until about 1 p.m. and there was only one lane open in the direction of Linz. In order to transport the truck, the entire highway had to be closed and traffic had to be diverted via the Liezen to Ardning ramp.
