After Roland Drexler’s getaway car was found in a forest on Friday morning, the search for the suspected double murderer continued on Saturday evening – without success. In daylight the search is intensified again.
Where is Roland Drexler? Friday morning saw the first successful search for the suspected perpetrator after two hunters were shot on Monday: As reported, a witness discovered the getaway car of the wanted man in a forest between Altenfelden and Arnreit in the Mühlviertel.
About 250 emergency services immediately concentrated their search on the affected forest area. But even on Saturday evening the search for the amok hunter was unsuccessful. There is still no trace of Roland Drexler, the police confirmed to the “Krone” on Saturday morning.
Searching in the dark is especially dangerous
At night, law enforcement’s search ability was limited due to darkness, making the operation particularly dangerous. The fear is that if Roland Drexler hides in the woods, he might be the first to see emergency services. Therefore, the police acted with extreme caution, especially in the dark.
According to police, the search was intensified again at daylight on Saturday morning. More information is coming in all the time and the search area is still surrounded.
Many questions unanswered
It is still unclear how long Drexler’s getaway car was parked in the woods. The discovery of the vehicle triggered a state of emergency in the region on Friday. The All Saints’ Day processions in the communities of Altenfelden, Arnreit, Kirchberg ob der Donau and Neufelden were cancelled.
