Fright for a 31-year-old driver on Monday in the Tyrolean Zillertal. While driving, her car suddenly caught fire. The woman drove to a gas station. Employees rushed over and started fighting the fire. Fortunately, everything went well in the end.
The 31-year-old Czech woman was driving out of the valley on Tuxer Landesstraße (L6) on Monday morning when, according to police, flames suddenly burst from the engine compartment of the vehicle.
An employee arrived with a fire extinguisher
“The woman then stopped her car at a gas station,” investigators said. Fortunately far enough away from the gas pumps. Still, the car was pushed to the other side of the street for safety reasons.
“The courageous intervention of a gas station employee using a fire extinguisher prevented the flames from spreading inland,” the fire brigade reports.
Continued extinguishing work by the fire brigade
This arrived with three vehicles and 15 emergency services. “However, our work was limited to follow-up extinguishing work, checking with a thermal imaging camera and disconnecting the battery.”
Police said there was serious damage to the woman’s car. Fortunately, no one was injured.
