But neither he nor the cooperative wanted to take responsibility while residents sat in the dark in front of defrosting freezers. “Many are older or single. We are restless and angry,” was a cry for help to the “Krone”.
Inquiries got the wheels turning
After “Krone” asked Wien Energie, the energy giant took action the same day and restored the power supply: “We would like to sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. An error has occurred during the registration process,” the energy supplier responds with refreshing openness.
Employees arrived on site to assist
The registrations were carried out immediately and the electricity supply started. “An additional Wien Energie employee was on site to support our customers. The absolute majority have already been restocked. The relevant smart meters still need to be activated in the other three apartments. The residents can do this themselves at the push of a button,” said a spokesperson on the day of the ‘Krone’ investigation this afternoon.
