The organization Fridays For Future (FFF) again called for a climate strike in Vienna on Friday. Numerous participants gathered in front of the House of the European Union from 10am.
Activists from Uganda and Botswana were also present at the demonstration in front of the EU House. Activists from the ‘Parents For Future’ movement are also expected to attend. At the next climate conference, all countries will negotiate how much money will be made available for measures to adapt to the climate crisis.
Human lives must be protected
“To protect human lives from the climate crisis in the future, the EU delegation must advocate strong climate finance at COP29,” they demand in a press release.
Politics is not doing enough
Politicians promised climate protection, but didn’t do enough, according to ‘Fridays for Future’. As with the previous demonstrations, the climate activists’ banners also spoke clearly.
Huge storm damage
The heavy storm damage throughout Austria continues to cause enormous costs. “The costs of climate damage are unbearable and those responsible must be paid for the necessary adaptation,” climate activists warn.
