As reported, police were called to the St. Pantaleon train station in the Innviertel region of Upper Austria on Saturday evening. There, a man is said to have been left with a knife in his cheek after a wild argument. But the truth came to light late Sunday morning!
The shock was great on Saturday evening. Officials were alerted to the St. Pantaleon train station in the Innviertel, Upper Austria. A seriously injured Pole (40) called the emergency number himself – there had been a heated argument and he received a knife in the cheek. The perpetrator fled, reported the injured man, who was alert and stable when emergency services arrived.
A large-scale search was immediately launched
After medical first aid, the 40-year-old was taken to Salzburg hospital. Meanwhile, the officers wasted no time in launching a massive emergency search. The perpetrator – said to be a man from the Arab region who spoke broken German – was even sought by helicopter in the area and in the border area with Salzburg.
However, the victim’s interrogation on Sunday morning brought a twist that no one had previously expected. The 40-year-old quickly admitted to ramming the knife into his own face – the Arab perpetrator never existed.
