The 52-year-old wrote candidly in a book months ago that she shot her 14-month-old dog, Cricket, with her own hands because she refused to be trained as a hunting dog. She tried in vain to control the dog with an electric collar. Instead, the animal “like a trained killer” tore apart chickens on a nearby family’s property and snapped at Noem.
