Klagenfurt without a swimming pool – Another new concept: where should the indoor swimming pool go?

Date:

The never-ending story of Klagenfurt’s indoor swimming pool includes many projects. So far they have all perished. A new swimming pool project at the Südring would cost 35 million euros…

Only on Saturday there was a demonstration at Neuer Platz in Klagenfurt: about 200 demonstrators finally demanded an indoor swimming pool. “The indoor swimming pool I had planned would be built on the dog park in the lido. I have failed politically,” said former mayor Harald Scheucher, who passed by. The East Bay project took place in 2011. A wading pool was also planned for the ice rink, which would have created energy synergies. In 2012, the dream of combining an indoor swimming pool and ice rink, in which a Swiss wanted to invest 45 million euros, was shattered.

The campsite at the lido was a possible address and a project, the Vitalbad, was also planned at Minimundus. The replacement bathroom for the district heating was just as quickly a thing of the past. When is a project ever completed?
