A strange incident concerned the Klagenfurt police on Thursday: a 33-year-old Bosnian completely panicked – apparently for no reason – and not only damaged his own car, but also destroyed his mobile phone and injured two police officers.
The drama started around noon when the 33-year-old stopped his car near a patrol car, opened the window and started insulting the officers. “He then drove away at too high a speed,” said the police, who immediately gave chase. But the man seemed to have no intention of escaping.
Because he suddenly stopped his car in the middle of the road and approached the patrol car visibly aggressively: “The officers tried to calm the man down. However, he shouted wildly and behaved aggressively all the time.” But the situation escalated even further when the police asked him to identify himself…
A window broke in anger
Completely enraged, the Bosnian hit the rear window of his own vehicle with his fist so hard that it cracked. Immediately afterwards, he threw his mobile phone on the road with full force and destroyed it. “The 33-year-old then attacked the officers. During the subsequent arrest and search, the man resisted so violently that two police officers suffered injuries of an unknown nature,” said state police, who charged the man with resisting state authority and serious bodily injury. The Bosnian stated that the reason for his behavior was that he felt he was being persecuted by the police.
Dog in the trunk
As he panicked, police also noticed that there was a dog in the trunk of the car, which was taken to the Animal Welfare Competence Center (TIKO) in Klagenfurt after the owner’s arrest. The 33-year-old was taken to the police station.
