Crazy discussion about music choice! During the “Winter Magic” of the Salzburg Linien, several employees became angry. The police had to come to break up the fight. Even the Red Cross was there. Now there are serious consequences…
It’s not easy being a disc jockey at a Christmas party. It is important to cater to the musical tastes of everyone present. Some prefer to be contemplative and enjoy songs like “Last Christmas” or “Feliz Navidad”. Others want party classics and pop music, the rest want current songs from the charts. Arguments seem inevitable. But during the Salzburg Linien Christmas party last week, a musical argument got so out of hand that the police had to intervene!
On Thursday, the company invited all employees of Salzburg’s local railways and trolleybuses to the “winter magic” in the coach house on Alpenstrasse. The mood? Initially peaceful, but exuberant. The situation escalated shortly after 9 p.m. According to eyewitnesses, several people of different nationalities clashed over the choice of music during the celebration. “They just didn’t want to hear each other’s songs,” says one “Krone” participant. Suddenly fists started flying and other employees of the Salzburg Linien tried to separate the violent arguments – in vain!
The company distances itself from noisy brothers
Eventually the police were called. The officers arrived as quickly as possible and were able to clarify the situation. The Red Cross was also on site. The executive and rescue authorities did not want to comment on the incident at the “Krone”. It was a ‘private party’. The Salzburg lines themselves were much more talkative. “Such behavior is in principle not tolerated on company premises; Salzburg Linien condemns the incident in the strongest possible terms and distances itself from it,” said spokesperson Harald Haidenberger.
He himself had not noticed the incident and had already left the party at the time of the argument. Frank Conrads, works council of the Salzburg trolleybus drivers, says: “It was an unpleasant situation, an incident of a private nature. The whole thing had nothing to do with the company, that’s important to me.”
In any case, the police investigation has not yet been completed. The disputants have been and will be heard.

What happens now to the brutal employees? Should they fear for their jobs? Either way, tough times await you! Haidenberger: “Once the relevant report has been filed, the legal consequences will be investigated.”
